Who is K. David Murdock?

Kenneth David Murdock was born to a large family in suburban Utah early in the nineties. He learned to sing before he learned how to talk. He developed the unusual skill of finishing any book within a day of picking it up around the age of 12. He would read anything from encyclopedias to home decoration magazines. Eventually he settled on fantasy novels and hardly ventured out of that genre for a decade.

David’s first recorded story, written sometime in either Kindergarten or first grade, was about a racoon, a grand total of four sentences. His first attempt at a novel in ninth grade was an unholy mix of National Treasure and Race to Witch Mountain, and he unfortunately still has a few pages of it.

David lived in Utah for most of his life, but moved to Arizona his last year of high school. There he earned his diploma, his Eagle Scout, and his degree in Psychology. When a job refused to materialize and all his family left the state to go back to Utah, he reluctantly went with them. Someday, he hopes to return to the warmth and beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

K. David Murdock’s first officially published work, “The Tower on the Shore,” was a short story released on November 30th, 2023 in the Warp & Weave journal produced by UVU. More works are coming.

You can read more about David in his blog post entitled, “All about David.”
